About Chris Pfohl
Former U.S. Marine 1983-1992. Retired U.S. Marshal 1993-2014. I began these careers, as a lone sentry manning the remote gate of a military installation at two o'clock in the morning, and ended them being sequestered alone with a U.S. Supreme Court Justice (Scalia), as the sole and last line of defense for both. Everything in between was a grand adventure, in which I went to a lot of interesting places and did a lot of cool things. I have since overseen two non-profit homeless shelters, learning what fails and what succeeds for them by their own niche traits. That learning curve gave rise to the opportunity to build a third one from scratch, specifically to veteran homelessness, in Spartanburg, South Carolina and the surrounding Upstate region.
