About Chris Pittens

With over 30 years of experience in emergency management and military training, I am a passionate and dedicated leader who strives to make a positive difference in the lives of others. I have a strong background in contingency planning, operational planning, and program management, and I am currently the Senior Manager of the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre at Emergency Management Ontario. I am committed to enhancing the safety and resilience of Ontario communities and supporting the provincial government in responding to emergencies and disasters. I value collaboration, innovation, and diversity, and I seek to leverage my skills and experiences to contribute to the mission and vision of Emergency Management Ontario. As the Senior Manager of the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre, I am responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the programs and emergency response functions of the centre. I oversee the coordination and delivery of emergency management services and support to municipalities, ministries, and other stakeholders. I also manage the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices for the centre. In addition, I have been actively involved in the provincial response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the centre and the provision of timely and accurate information and guidance. Some of the skills that I use in my role are emergency management, contingency planning, operational planning, and program management.
