About Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt is an internationally experienced environmental professional with over 35 years experience in a variety of environmental disciplines in the USA, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom. He has extensive experience managing large multidisciplinary environmental assessment projects and has a long history of work in the upstream oil and gas and refining industry. Chris has project managed a number of major EIS’s and baseline environmental studies for coal seam gas, mining, shale oil, coal gasification and sequestration projects in Queensland. He has recently project managed two large EIS’s for a major mine and processing facility in Gladstone and for a proposed coal mine in the Galilee Basin. He also recently completed work on a proposed oil refinery and a clean coal energy project. His roles have required him to provide oversight to the relevant social impact assessments which are not key components of state EISs. Chris project managed a recent review of Queensland EIS, and operational management plans to assess compliance of the proposed CSG project with the International Finance Corporation performance standards. In New Zealand, Chris managed permitting projects and environmental impact assessments for oil and gas exploration activities, which included a series of onshore exploration wells for L&M Petroleum and Austral Pacific, and offshore exploration wells for Tap Oil, Conoco, OMV and Pogo. Through his more recent roles Chris has developed an excellent understanding of the regulatory processes both in Australia (Federal and Queensland) and New Zealand, as well as international requirements and standards for project funding. He has fostered excellent relationships with regulators and clients, providing professional services assisting with the process of obtaining environmental approvals.
