About Chris Robinson

I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Kenro Kusumi's lab at Arizona State University. I use bioinformatic tools to address questions in conservation, evolution, and development. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Virginia department of Biology and was a Jefferson Scholar. I received my BS in Biology from Trinity University in 2014 and my MS in Biology from the University of Central Arkansas in 2017. I love to analyze data. Largely, my experience is in R (approximately 10 years of experience) but I have used other programs to meet the needs of any given analysis.In my dissertation work, I studied the evolution of hormonal regulation of trait development. Using lizards, I tested how the steroid hormone testosterone affects gene expression to underlie 1) the emergence of sexual dimorphism, 2) the evolution of sexually dimorphic traits, and 3) the evolutionary potential of hormone-phenotype couplings.During my graduate education, I worked with DataClassroom to help develop DataClassroomU, a stats education program designed to teach statistics and R to undergraduate and graduate students. Further, I am working as an advisor and writer for BioBuddy, an emerging education platform whose goals are towards creating resources for AP Biology and college-level Introductory Biology content mastery.
