About Chris Schneider

I am a commercial real estate attorney with over 30 years of practice experience in the Atlanta market. I have worked through two economic recessions. I am enthusiastic about helping landlords and tenants and borrowers and lenders work out mutually acceptable arrangements for restructuring obligations during tough economic cycles. I have a particular interest in how AI will be used in transactional legal practice, and I consult regularly with start-ups and early stage ventures in this area. There are enormous efficiencies that can be achieved in transactional practices with large language models. I am excited to discuss application of AI to the legal industry, particularly to transactional practices. I am also an advocate of value-based billing, alternative and fixed fee arrangements, and maximizing the efficient delivery of legal services. I am also a real estate broker and investor, with a particular interest in short term rentals, single family residential longer term rentals and single family residential REIT development and investment. My focus as a real estate broker is similar - I offer flexible commission schedules on the sell side, and rebates to buyers on the buy side. It is possible to deliver excellent service cost effectively, which produces true value. Specialties: Loan assumption work, including representation of borrowers in connection with negotiation of changes to existing loan documents in both securitized and portfolio credit facilities; homebuilder representation; borrower representation; distressed loan portfolio sales and work-outs and foreclosures; real estate development, including transit oriented development; development of apartments and condominiums; acquisition and sales; lender representation; office and industrial leasing; all issues relating to the real estate underlying wind farms and solar energy arrays. I am passionate about and dedicated to diversity and inclusion, and am interested in leadership roles in furtherance of these goals. My best set of skills: helping people I care about with financial literacy and general problem solving, and using my problem solving and processing skills and my general experience to make the lives of friends better.
