About Chris Senenko

As the Director of the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS) at the U.S. Naval War College, I oversee the development and delivery of a rigorous and relevant graduate-level education program that prepares naval and joint leaders for operational and strategic-level warfare. With over 30 years of experience as a military officer, I have extensive leadership and operational planning skills, as well as a diverse technical and engineering background, that enable me to provide effective guidance and mentorship to MAWS students and faculty. I have a proven track record of superior performance in developing and leading high-performance teams that solve complex problems, including national security issues at the highest levels of the U.S. government. As a military professor at the Naval War College and a former division chief at the Joint Staff, I have contributed to the advancement of joint professional military education and the formulation of joint doctrine and policy. I have also demonstrated expertise in navigation and maritime security operations, having earned an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School and received multiple honors for my academic achievements. My mission is to empower the next generation of naval and joint warfighters with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed in challenging and uncertain environments.
