About Chris Shank

Summary of Qualifications: Masters degree in education, 15+ years directing education teams providing training and development for business owners at two professional development associations representing employers nationally, and providing training/development and learning management for thousands of employees at trade businesses; proficiency in certification/accreditation, and corporate in-person and virtual conferences. I have a strong background in executive leadership, organizational strategy, education design, program development, business profitability, and membership growth. The engagement platforms I've created always uniquely serve the continuing evolution of leadership development, team training, and individual career progress. Engagement/education programs I've developed include the Trade Best Practice Series, Member To Leader, NEXT, Cause, Leader-Fit, and others. I am a student and avid reader of new research in leadership development, engagement, business development, instructional design, learning theory, and philosophy. I apply my love of learning in every area I work, and the education/membership strategies I have have instituted especially integrate the principles of Cognitive Flow (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi) and Competitive Paradigms (Thomas Kuhn). My experience in both education systems and department management allows me to see creative options in L&D architecture. Over the years I have engaged with many different types of people in both crisis and affluence, and this has contributed to my proficiency in interpersonal communication and mediation—including teaching, team-building, public speaking, and technical writing.
