About Chris Sheehan

I am a music industry consultant who works across different areas of the business with contacts and people at the heart of everything I do, from Artist Management, publishing and live events to work with charities and our not for profit. I am the CEO of Karousel Music - a limited Community Interest Company comprised of songwriters, musicians and music industry professionals working together to create a more sustainable and equitable environment and community for new and established talent. I formed Karamel Music in 2011, before rebranding it with my colleagues as Karousel Music, and making it an equally run Community Interest Company in January/Feb 2014. For more info see relevant section below. We've given 521 showcase opportunities for artists in front of industry and music lovers since 2011 and publish 13 writers. Alongside Karousel I am incredibly passionate about the work I do for Help Musicians UK for whom I am the Music Industry liaison for England as well as a member of the Creative Advisory Board; and I also consult to Big Group on various corporate events sourcing acts for events around The Brits, Mercury Music Prize, Champions League and other corporate launches. On the management side I co-manage Pat Dam Smyth (Quiet Arch) and Ren Harvieu (Bella Union) in partnership with David Manders and Steve Dix of Liquid Management, and work with The Magic Lantern and Universal artist Mairead Carlin via Karousel. I also manage British folk legend Matt Deighton who is the subject of a Sky Arts documentary due out in Q1 2021. I was an artist and songwriter for 17 years and have recorded 2 solo albums and 2 collaborative albums - one with Mark E Brydon (Moloko) and the other with Matt Deighton (Solo,Mother Earth, Oasis, Weller) as well as a wealth of co-writes. I have recorded, produced or written with a cross section of artists from emerging artists such as Pat Dam Smyth, Yungblud, Ana Silvera, Paul Aiden, Chris Simmons, and Zoé Boutoille to more established stars like Chris Difford, Kathryn Williams, Bill Fay, Marti Pellow and Dennis Bovell. I own 50:50 Studios in North London, which is available to Karousel friends and allies at a discounted rate. I am a Board member for The International Association for Artists and Rightsholders (IAFAR), an organisation that seeks to educate and advocate around Neighbouring Rights.
