About Chris Simon

I have spent my entire professional life in the world of education. Starting with Teach For America - Los Angeles more than 30 years ago, I have served in a wide variety of roles and school environments. I have taught in classrooms from 2nd to 12th grade. I spent two years teaching at the Surabaya, Indonesia International School I taught 4th grade, middle school and served as Technology Coordinator at The College School in St. Louis, Missouri I served as an adjunct professor and taught teachers how to integrate technology at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Technology and Learning center. The opportunity to be an Expeditionary Learning Instructional Guide at two Gates Foundation start up high schools in Denver brought my family west more than 18 years ago. I have always had an entrepreneurial streak and working at the Denver Venture School with principal Ami Desai and School Designer Colleen Broderick provided the boost and encouragement I needed to start my own educational company, BOSSreaders. I am proud BOSSreaders flourished for more than 10 years and brought the power of ownership to students throughout the country. In 2019 I joined the JDO Foundation to lead their professional development for teachers around the world. I am grateful for the opportunity to help students and educators work together to learn from each other and grow.
