About Chris Small

CHRIS SMALL, M.A, resides in Fletcher, North Carolina, where he teaches Religion and History at Fletcher Academy and guides ABE'S AMERICA LLC. He has a degree in Religion and served as a Seventh-day Adventist pastor. Chris also has a graduate degree in Communication, with an emphasis in Interpretation and Performance Studies. He created the university-level course “Drama in Religion and Religious Ritual,” and taught both it and other communication courses in several Michigan institutions of higher learning as an Adjunct Lecturer. He has presented papers and workshops integrating faith and performance to academic, church, and professional audiences. He has provided public speaking and consulting to churches, including church visioning, equipping for spiritual gifts, and evangelism planning. Chris has been the featured speaker for weeks of prayer in Adventist schools both in the US and abroad. In the public sector, keynotes and consultations have included “Tell, Compel, Propel: Story in Management” and “Free Your Effectiveness” featuring the Benziger Breakthrough® and Benziger Thinking Styles Assessment. Chris founded The Lincoln Project® (not the PAC) in 2003 and rebranded as Abe's America LLC in 2022. This company is dedicated to “Bringing Abraham Lincoln to Life” via living historiography and other means. Clients and partners have included the National Park Service, the United States Post Office, the East Tennessee Historical Society, churches and schools throughout the country, and many others.
