Background
About Chris Stark
I have loved solving problems since I was a child. Maybe it was taking apart an old turntable that didn't work any more or finding a route through the forest to my friend's house. Whatever the problem was, I wanted to figure out a way to solve it, and same still holds true today. Over the past 17 years I have dedicated myself to providing real-world science and technology-based skills to middle school and high school students in Massachusetts. I have developed curriculum ranging from cell biology to electric bike design and everything in between. As an educator it has been my goal to encourage students to become life-long-learners, to find a passion for solving problems, and to develop skills that will make them highly employable in the future. I have achieved many accolades during my tenure as a professional educator. Most recently, through a collaborative grant writing effort, I have received over in grant monies to start an engineering and manufacturing technology program. I am a National Stem scholar and I have presented at the NSTA conference in Houston. My students and I were state finalists for the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition during the 2022 school year and I have a permanent installation in the Boston Science Museum. My wife runs a micro bakery called Brynne's Bread. I have been an active partner with her over the past ten years and have helped her bring the business to its current success. I have also recently built a fully outfitted workshop where I design and build furniture, fabricate metal projects, build electric vehicles, and solve a myriad of problems. I have a work ethic that sets me apart from the norm. When I apply myself to a task I not only complete it it but bring it to a whole new level. As an avid biker I have completed multiple multi-century rides that have pushed my physical and mental ability to the brink. I Keep the horizon up ahead, distant as it may be, even if it holds a tall peak, even through pain and exhaustion. That is because the horizon holds promise; it holds more problems to solve, more to learn, and more good to do on this Earth.
