About Chris Sternberg

I am a problem solver that applies data analysis, behavior driven development, and pattern recognition to identify simple solutions for complex problems. I excel at creating a collaborative environment that solicits ideas from multiple personas to question assumptions and strike a balance between purely logical and reasonable use approaches. As a PM with a technical background and two decades in IT, I have learned how to listen and communicate with stakeholders to develop technically sound requirements that meet widely varied user expectations. My experiences living and working abroad have taught me to listen and keenly observe behavior to recognize patterns that hold the key to problem solving and identifying innovative solutions. As in Malta where I navigated the potholes of a complex permitting process to implement an automated workflow system for the roads department. Once back in Austin I returned to work at my alma mater to further my technical pursuits in IT software and database development and systems analysis. I implemented changes to inventory processes to reduce fiscal year downtime by 75% and helped integrate three major systems for identity management. After nearly a decade at UT I sought another direction and joined a start-up to move from development to product management where I found my niche. Here I collaborated with the founder and CTO, clients, partners, solutions consultants, and engineering to develop our product to become a market-leading tool for hardware and software asset discovery, recognition, normalization, licensing, and enrichment.
