About Chris Sutherland

I joined the Clarke Group in early 2014, having previously managed complex, highly technical refits of superyachts in the shipyards of France and Italy for their billionaire owners to exacting standards. Now I bring this project management experience to Clarke Group, overseeing project developments and property management. I was a founding member and company director of Enlighten Designs, a highly successful Hamilton-based web design and software solutions provider, which has grown to become one of New Zealand’s leading tech players. I then moved to a consultancy and account management role at LANtech in Wellington. After a 10-year sabbatical overseas in 66 countries (living in the Caribbean, Denmark, Estonia, France and Italy), I now apply my IT knowledge in supporting Clark Group’s information systems and policies, both locally and online. However the bulk of my time is spent leading the project management of our numerous developments, or taking a hands-on approach with the property management division of the Group. I graduated from the University of Waikato with Honours in a Bachelor of Science and Technology degree, and am currently undertaking an Executive MBA at the University of Auckland. I'm an accomplished musician, and have performed professionally in many countries. I speak comfortable French, and have a nightly Russian lesson.
