About Chris Thigpen

Chris has walked a long road of ups and downs, highs and lows, and peaks and valleys. He has been to multiple treatment centers, detoxification units, and correctional facilities. He has first-hand experience with the hopelessness of this disease as well as the unmanageability that comes along with it. After a long bout with progressive drug addiction, Chris was intervened on and transported to a long term treatment center Austin Texas. With the help of his peers, mentors, and the 12 Step Recovery program, he has been able to get sober, stay sober, and recreate his life. He has over 16 years of life experience with addiction and recovery and has an extensive working knowledge of treatment field. He continues lead by example working with others and sharing his experience, strength, and hope both personally and professionally. After being on the bottom and getting a second chance at life, Chris can relate in such a way that people are drawn to him and motivated by him. He is a man who has found an answer and is set on a journey to give others the opportunity to discover it for themselves. Chris has an extensive working knowledge of the treatment process from start to finish. Throughout his professional career he has worked to create dynamic program structures that best suit their culture. He has hands on experience with case management, experiential group therapy, family components and family programs, intervention and transport services, treatment consulting and referral options, motivational lectures, detox placement, residential treatment, extended care sober living, continued accountability and monitoring, and recovery coaching. He is an event planner and a strategist. He has direct experience with managing teams within an organization, and also representing them on a national level.
