About Chris Tucker

I served at a DoD/DHS funded think-tank in a critical infrastructure cybersecurity role. My first career was in local government executive level emergency services and military operations. As Chief of Fire and Emergency Services for Meriwether County, GA I was given an opportunity to lead and shape an organization in the midst of tremendous change. My goal was to maintain the character of the department and expand the services of the Department of Public Safety to ensure that the citizens, employees, and volunteers of the Department continue to find the organization a source of pride. I believe I accomplished that goal. As Director of Emergency Management I was responsible for all aspects of EOC operations and coordination of disaster response across the whole of county government. In addition, I was responsible for all aspects of mitigation planning, emergency response, and disaster recovery operations. While in this role I served on a number of committees and boards whose purpose was to build resilient communities through stakeholder engagement and have worked directly with Georgia DPS, the US Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, DHS, and a number of other federal, state, and local partners. I'm a Iraq Veteran and served as a Field Medic in 2003-2004. Later, I was commissioned as an Officer in the Georgia Army National Guard, serving as a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer of the 877th Engineer Company (HEAVY), and as a Platoon Leader with the 810th Combat Engineer Company (SAPPER). My education includes a B.S in Emergency Management from Jacksonville State University and a Master of Public Administration from Norwich University.
