About Chris Waight

With over 20 years of industry experience, including 17 years specializing in Building Information Modeling (BIM), architectural, and structural modeling, I have built a proven track record of enhancing project efficiency and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. My journey began in 2003 as a glazing designer and project manager, where I developed a deep respect for the integration of craftsmanship and technology in the built environment. In 2007, I joined Stantec as a Structural Technician, refining my expertise across diverse building types, sectors, and project delivery methods. During this time, I led the adoption of BIM/Revit methodologies in the Kelowna office’s Structural team, transforming workflows, improving collaboration, and elevating data precision. These efforts allowed me to contribute to landmark projects such as the Royal Columbian Hospital Phase 1 Expansion, the in Doha, and the Stantec Tower in Edmonton. In 2019, I transitioned to Architecture, focusing on Healthcare, Institutional, and Education sectors. My dedication to mentorship and knowledge-sharing has driven me to conduct workshops, one-on-one training, and deliver industry lectures, including for CanBIM and DBEI.org (formerly BILT Conference). Through these efforts, I aim to empower teams and inspire the next generation of professionals.
