About Chris Weaver

I am a Partner in the Employment Department at Payne Hicks Beach. I specialise in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law. I have extensive experience in advisory work and litigation for employers and employees. I advise employers on all aspects of employment law and HR matters including senior executive appointments and departures; large scale redundancy exercises and business reorganisations; investigations, disciplinary procedures and dismissals; employee grievances; managing employees on long-term sickness absence; and matters relating to the drafting, negotiation and enforcement of post-termination restrictions. I have particular experience in advising on the TUPE aspects of asset sales and outsourcing projects and employment law issues in the context of corporate transactions generally. I advise senior executives and employees generally in relation to negotiating terms of appointment; workplace disputes, disciplinary procedures and grievances; redundancies; moves to competing employers, the enforceability of post-termination restrictions and associated matters; and the negotiation of severance terms. I am regularly involved in complex litigation for both employers and employees. I have appeared in seminars on TUPE and had articles and comment published in a number of HR and business publications including Personnel Today, HR Magazine, Growth Business, SME Web and People Management. I have also had articles published in the FT Weekend, City AM and I have been interviewed by BBC Radio Kent. Qualified 2005, joined Payne Hicks Beach 200; promoted to an Associate in 2015, promoted to Partner 1 December 2021.
