About Chris Wilson

I am an experienced corporate financier and currently lead UNW’s Corporate Finance practice. I have advised both private and public companies on a range of transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, fundraisings (equity and debt), restructurings and other corporate transactions. Most of my transactions have been focussed on helping clients sell their business or raise private equity investment with deal values typically anywhere between £5 million and £300 million. A selection of the transactions I have led over the last few years include- LDC's investment in employee engagement consultancy scarlettabbott (nominated for North East Region Private Equity Deal of the Year 2023)- sale of Goodfellow, a specialist supplier of high-quality materials for research and development, prototyping and specialised manufacturing, to global technology-focused investor Battery Ventures (Central and East Region International Deal of the Year 2021)- carve out and sale of AB Volvo's construction equipment dealership network in Great Britain to SMT (nominated for Central and East Region Deal of the Year 2017)- carve out and sale of CSA Group's Leyland Technical Centre to Millbrook, a subsidiary of Spectris plc - sale of Steeper Holdings' hi-tech upper limb prosthetic business to Ottobock - the simultaneous merger of Pharmacy2U with ChemistDirect.co.uk and £10 million investment from the BGF - sale of President Engineering Group Limited to Parker Hannifin Corp.(awarded Deal of the Year at the Sheffield City Region Dealmakers Awards and VCT Exit of the Year at the Unquote British Private Equity Awards)- sale of Redhall Group's contract engineering business (Redhall Engineering Solutions Limited) to Cape plc - sale of Luxury for Less Limited (trading as BathEmpire.com) to Wolseley plc - the management buy-out of Arnlea Systems backed by NVM Private Equity - sale of Motherwell Bridge Limited to Cape plc - sale of OSS Group to Hydrodec plc - sale of Moffat to Forum Energy Technologies, Inc- sale of Ride Away to Pets at Home - sale of a minority stake in Clarke Energy to ECI Partners Awards and recognition- North East Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year 2023 - Central and East Dealmaker of the Year 2019 - Central and East Emerging Dealmaker of the Year 2018 Passionate about building lasting, long term relationships with colleagues and clients.
