About Christa Bruning

Christa has 30 years experience in Child Welfare, Adoption, Quality Assurance, and Domestic Violence. She possesses exception Supervisory and Oversight experience, Program Planning and Development, Policy Development, Staff Training and Development, Research, Data Analyst, and Superior Skills in Excel Management Reports. She began her career by founding one of the first Domestic Violence Shelters in the County in Indian. From there she worked in various Human Services Program including: Family Resources, Runaway Hotline, Child Protection, The Florida Department of Children and Families, Sarasota Family YMCA and Eckerd Community Alternatives. My goal is to provide consultation and training in the area of adoption competency and child welfare practice. I bring years of experience and a hands-on knowledge that is essential to developing systems that can meet the individual need. Specialties: I am a state certified Foster/Adoptive parent trainer as well as a Positive Behavior Parenting Instructor. I have extensive work in child welfare and adoption related work, as well as being an Adoptive Parent. I have written extensive adoption policies as well as an Adoption Manual in order to promote adoption expertise at the case management level. In recent years, I have worked in the area of severe and persistent mental illness and chronic homelessness. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and currently serves as Vice President of the Homeless Services for Boley Centers, Inc.
