About Christian Baca

As a junior at Yale University majoring in political science, I am committed to advancing research on democratic governance by leveraging my skills in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. Initially drawn to the prospect of teaching, my teaching experience was fueled by a passion to foster a commitment to civic engagement, especially within underserved communities. Yet, it is with the recognition that educational systems function as microcosms of broader societal structures that I began investigating democratic institutions, with a concentration on Latin America—a region infamous for its delicate democratic fabric and inadequate educational infrastructure. With an untraditional path to political science research, I bring not only a strong academic background but also a human-centered approach to research, enabling me to contextualize broader political scenarios by understanding their impact on individuals and communities firsthand.
