About Christian Herneth

Christian Herneth is head of Supply Chain Development in OMV Petrom, the major integrated oil company in Central East Europe. He worked in Financial and chemical industry and in 1995, he moved to Cupertino CA/USA to work in the Ernst & Young Networked Value Chain (NVC) group, an internet think tank. After 3 years he returned to Europe as Director of Capgemini's Global Office of Supply Chain Technology and Global Agent Center of Excellence. During this time, he has worked with senior executives in several world leading companies, designing and managing large scale strategic and operational supply chain transformation projects. He acquired professional experience in designing global services- integrated, people, process- and information- systems and in managing the subsequent large scale strategic and operational transformation projects. His current business focus is defining and implementing a comprehensive Supply Chain for OMV-group/Petrom. Vision is to enable a "Balanced Multi Echelon Demand & Supply Oil Network" through a unique 4 layered architecture The envisioned and implemented solutions optimize and automate the behaviour of decentralized people, IT and equipment and allow them to operate as one integrated processing system in response to business events. The resulting new business capability is today commonly called "Adaptive Execution in Business Networks" and was invented by Christian Herneth already in the year 1997 as concept for "planning while executing (NVC)". Christian Herneth writes and speaks to the topic of business and IT transformation in supply chain event networks and software agent technologies. He has written supply chain event network and agent technology point of views and spoke at AAMAS, Zurich Agent Conference, NATO defence day, CISCO,SUN, HP, Capgemini- supply chain conferences, Stanford supply chain Forum and various supply chain and software agent related conferences in Europe and America.
