About Christian Kisker

At the moment, my time in the the world of medical technology adds up to 8 years of experience as a usability engineering specialist and project manager. During this time and ongoing, I have supported national and international medical device manufacturers in formative and summative studies as a project manager or as part of a bigger team from Use-Lab in the project. I have taken on the role of a usability engineer / usability expert, starting from test planning, moderation of test sessions, building test setups and also the creation of usability documentation in general. I have also taken on consulting activities, for example for the development of SOPs for the implementation of a usability engineering process or individual questions and guidance in usability engineering for manufacturers with less experience in usability. Through the various projects, I have learned a lot about different medical devices, ranging from home care products for patients, IVD laboratory equipment and standard medical devices to complex devices such as robotic systems, as well as the related instructions for use and risk analyses of varying quality. As a result of my work, I am also familiar with the relevant aspects of the MDR and U.S. FDA related guidances that are relevant to usability.
