About Christian Sorteberg

I am in my final year of my bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering and plan to graduate in May 2020. I recently completed a 14-month systems engineering internship at Sikorsky Global Helicopters. My responsibilities included organizing and distributing data (such as safety/performance requirements, testing methods, and compliance/training documents) for the export of the Sikorsky CH-148 Cyclone helicopter, which required proficiency in Excel VBA programming and data organization/analysis. I have participated in a high-altitude weather balloon payload project, tutored students for the aerospace engineering honor society, and worked with computer programs such as MATLAB, C++, CATIA, and Autodesk Inventor. In addition, I have designed and 3D printed a hypersonic (~Mach 4) waverider with an optimum lift to drag ratio. I am also working as a lab assistant at the Alfred Gessow Rotorcraft Lab on different prototypes for a gliding quadcopter in an effort to develop a 20 lb model.
