About Christina Daniel

A qualified enthusiastic social worker with 4+ years of experience in the field of Clinical setting from India. Also holds an additional qualification as a Registered Social Worker from Social Work England. I have been working with St. John’s Medical College and Hospital as a Medico Social Worker since June 2018. I was posted in various departments across the hospital including, Department of The Unit of Hope (Children with Special Needs from the age of 0-18), Department of Orthopedic (both adults and children) and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department wherein patients are treated, and the issues of their family members are addressed in a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, social workers, therapists, counsellors, and other healthcare specialists. One of my major interventions is psychological, social and economic assessments of patients and their families. Based on the outcome and evaluations, I conduct various counselling sessions- including individual counselling, family counselling, teen counselling, and parental counselling- wherein I address and resolve children's and their families’ various issues. The skill of critical thinking and analysis has played a significant role in analysing and evaluating the family dynamics during my counselling sessions. Medical adherence is being provided in the counselling sessions by involving them in case conferences with the treating team. I consider rehabilitation, which is another major area of my intervention, as a determinant of the well-being of vulnerable children and adults and their families. These rehabilitation programmes can be either medical or physical or educational or vocational, based on requirements and needs. I have experience working among a diverse population contending their problems and to bring out the best in them as well as their lives.
