About Christina Moore

As a volunteer crisis counselor for the past three-and-a-half years, I have supported through active listening and de-escalation over 1,400 individuals in crisis. Crises include circumstances such as suicidal thoughts and actions, self-harm, depression, relationships, homelessness, unplanned pregnancy/grief related to abortion or unexpected loss of a child among various other issues. While a crisis counselor, I have had the opportunity to expand beyond my role of direct-contact with those who reach out to our services via my role as Spike Captain. In this role, I supported other crisis counselors who volunteer to be available during nighttime shifts through being available to debrief, encouraging and keeping up group engagement while volunteering with them (actively supporting those who reach out).
