About Christine Duncan

I am a compassionate instructional leader who strives to ensure the success and wellbeing of others. I believe establishing positive, collaborative relationships is essential to building an effective team. I possess a Master of Education degree and I have Junior, Intermediate, and Senior teaching qualifications. In addition, I have my PQP Parts I and II and I have completed Module One of the Supervisory Officer Qualification Program. I have 30 years experience at the elementary, secondary, and post-secondary levels. As both an educational leader and researcher I am particularly interested in how we can better serve students to help them address and overcome any barriers they may face. I am a lifelong learner and throughout my teaching career I have been fortunate enough to participate in a variety of Board, Ministry, and Faculty initiatives designed to improve student success and well being. I believe academic excellence hinges on a commitment to the planning and delivery of effective, engaging, and innovative programs that meet the specific and varied needs of all learners. My teaching practice continues to be informed by reflection and current research. I believe a quality education is one that empowers students, particularly those who have been traditionally marginalized. I am particularly interested in student voice/choice, restorative practices, and Indigenous education.
