About Christine Odell

Office Manager by day, Etsy Shop owner by night. There is an old saying that one person’s junk is another’s treasure. I guess the latter describes me because old things - especially things that might be described as “retro,” “vintage” or “mid-century” - are the things to which I am drawn.I love Formica dinettes, vintage purses, recipe boxes and practically anything that would be found in your grandmother’s kitchen in 1959, in her closet in 1966 and the items she circled in the 1974 Sears and Roebuck catalog. Vintage Pyrex dishes are like works of art to me. These are the items I seek out like one of the American Pickers and sell on my Etsy store, Atomic Vintage Shop. The thrill of the hunt energizes me and I am enthralled by the artistry and quality of everything from clocks to clothing. I love finding these treasures and sharing them with others. Perhaps one of the reasons I love vintage things so much is that I’m quickly becoming vintage myself. As I reach mid-life, I appreciate more and more the people that I consider mine - my husband, four children, one daughter-in-law and many other family members. I love learning from the history of those around me and sharing that history through treasures of days gone by. It is important to share our history so it is not forgotten, and my little shop is one way of doing just that.
