Background
About Christine Vogt
Over the past fifteen years, I have dedicated myself to daily excellence as a Registered Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist with the Hospital for Special Care – the fourth largest, free-standing long-term acute care hospital and the only one in the nation serving adults and children. We are recognized for advanced care and rehabilitation in pulmonary care, acquired brain injury, medically complex pediatrics, neuromuscular disorders, spinal cord injury, comprehensive heart failure and comprehensive inpatient and outpatient treatment for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. The Hospital for Special Care is a “place where hope lives, where dreams are fought for and achieved.” I am proud to be part of a team of healthcare professionals who are committed to helping patients “rebuild their physical, spiritual and emotional self.” In addition to serving as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, I am also a Resource RT; I supervises 8-10 staff members whenever no Respiratory Supervisor or Manager is on-site. I have a strong academic background, having earned two Bachelor of Science degrees – in Cellular Biology from Marymount University in 1998, and in Respiratory Therapy from University of Hartford in 2006. I am CPR, PALS, ACLS certified and an active member of AARC. I recently completed three tracks of AARC Advanced Leadership Institute, and I am on the committee that created the Willow Award for Respiratory Excellence @HSC.
