About Christine Webb

As a doctoral student at Columbia, I studied conflict resolution in humans and chimpanzees. Namely, I am interested in the motivational underpinnings of reconciliation, and approach my research from two disciplinary specializations. As a psychologist, I investigate the self-regulatory processes involved in social conflicts and their resolutions. As a primatologist, I explore the evolutionary origins of reconciliatory behaviors and strategies. At their intersection, a wealth of question continues to guide and shape my research. This interdisciplinary perspective has led me to focus on issues ranging from individual differences to group-level social network analyses. For my postdoctoral fellowship, I will be conducting a project on the chimpanzees at Arnhem Zoo in The Netherlands and field research in Namibia with the Tsaobis Baboon Project.
