About Christine Williams

I'm a systems-minded communicator who bridges storytelling, strategy, and user experience to make complex work clear, human, and effective. At Prevention Institute, I manage our Drupal website content to ensure it remains functional, current, and rooted in clear, accessible language. I lead content editing and collaborate with internal teams to shape messaging, structure information, and align communications with broader goals. I also coordinate Mailchimp campaigns and shape LinkedIn content. Across all channels, I help multiple content teams with different timelines and needs translate their work into coherent, outward-facing communications that reflect our mission and respect our organizational capacity. This past year, I helped facilitate a full website transition, working closely with our Drupal developer, information architect, designers, and internal staff. My role has been to align timelines, content structure, and platform goals. Earlier in my career, I helped build a wellness platform at a D.C-based health-tech startup and was mentored in UX design, user research, and strategy by the original architects of AOL. I also worked with boutique web firm Marketade, where I deepened my skills in usability testing and analytics. I picked up tools like WordPress, HTML, and CSS, and co-organized UXDC, a major user experience conference in Washington, D.C, building a strong technical foundation that still informs my work today. My background in international conflict resolution taught me the value of narrative in making complex systems human and accessible. Through field research and published writing, I explored the root causes and lasting impacts of civil conflict. That work cemented my belief that the stories we tell shape what feels possible; that belief continues to ground my communications approach, especially in public systems work. I bring deep expertise in academic, journalistic, literary, and web-based writing, along with editing at every level: developmental, line editing, copyediting, and proofreading. My approach centers on clarity and care—I offer feedback that supports the writer’s voice and leaves them feeling more connected to their message, not less.
