About Christopher Bagby

A full-time police officer and part-time academic. 20+ years as a proficient practitioner in a wide array of policing specialties including operational and investigative police work of all kinds. Currently, I specialize in organizational data, policy, use of force quality control, early intervention, oversight, and accountability. I develop systems, policies, and processes that withstand scrutiny, protect organizational integrity and preserve institutional legitimacy without constraining quality policing outcomes. I believe in better-than-best practices, system optimization, evidence-based policing, and continuous improvement. Academic pursuits include learning organization theory, police reform, and systems thinking.
