Background
About Christopher Battist
With my Bachelor's of Arts degree as a double major in Sociology and Africana Studies and a double minor in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Miami I aim to be a trailblazer in the world of professionalism and career development. The experience garnered has granted me the understanding of how humans work in all capacities whether it be organizational, social or recreational levels. Managing my prodigious academic load, while also finding the time to be a collegiate cheerleader for two years- with practices occurring four days a week- my time management and teamwork skills improved exponentially. I've also had the opportunity of interning at a student led marketing consultancy as a Human Resources recruiter. In this position I took charge of the entire hiring campaign along with two other members as well as the interview process and onboarding. In the years following, with security experience dating two years and administrative experience accumulating to four, I bring the ability to problem solve and also work in a fast paced yet organized environment to any occupational space I set foot in. Doing this all as a student full time with executive board positions in multiple organizations (e.g. Treasurer of the Caribbean Student Association, Event Chair for the Haitian Cultural Org) has allowed me to garner the experience, background and versatility I've dreamt for as a foundation for my career. I now find myself as a primary education teacher, refining both my swift problem-solving and management skills while educating the youth both in academics and core socio-emotional abilities. With long term goals in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the realm of education- teaching has afforded me the opportunity to engage with the communities and stakeholders most directly effected, making my work in these stages of my career a dream come true!
