About Christopher Beckerton
I began my career with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services (now the Ministry of the Solicitor General) in 2010 as a Correctional Officer. In 2017, I advanced into management, serving as a Sergeant and later Staff Sergeant in 2024. In response to workplace challenges faced by Correctional Managers, I co-founded the Coalition of Correctional Managers and was elected to its board, advocating for positive change across Ontario’s correctional system. I recently stepped into the role of Senior Policy Advisor with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, where I draw on 15 years of frontline and leadership experience to inform institutional services policy.
