About Christopher Bilinski

I am currently a Software Engineer at RTX, where I also end up taking on responsibilities as an RF Engineer and Systems Engineer. Alongside this work, I have pursued extensive training in Data Science, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning through courses at the University of Arizona and Stanford, with the goal of contributing more directly to AI-driven projects in the future. My academic background is in Astronomy and Astrophysics, where I earned my PhD with a focus on supernovae studied through optical and infrared spectropolarimetry. I continued research in this field for a few years after my doctorate and remain active as a Designated Campus Colleague at the University of Arizona, collaborating with colleagues at the University of Denver and San Diego State University. Teaching and mentorship have also been central to my career. Most recently, I worked with Youthfully to coach students on independent research projects and college admissions preparation. Outside of engineering and education, I’ve been a superhost on Airbnb for almost a decade, which has strengthened my communication and interpersonal skills. I am also a dedicated volunteer, contributing to the San Diego Comic-Con Line Management Department, Valley of the Moon (website and event support), Celtic Festival food services, and the Ultra Culture Council, where I help organize monthly team events.
