About Christopher Bolduc
Christopher Bolduc was born in Boca Raton, Florida. From an early age, he was exposed to various genres of world music ranging from Brazilian Bossa Nova, African Fusion, Western and Indian Classical, and American Jazz. Mr. Bolduc grew up in Tampa, Florida and has studied the violin from age of 11. He began his studies with Karen Bishop and Steven Bossert in 2012 and continued until 2016. He became concertmaster of his respective school orchestras and participated yearly in regional orchestras like All-County and All-State Orchestra, securing the concertmaster position of both during his senior year. In 2016, Mr. Bolduc was accepted into the violin studio of Carolyn Stuart at the University of South Florida in the dual enrollment program as a high school senior. He continued to study with professor Stuart, receiving a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida in violin performance in 2020 and graduated with the USF Outstanding Graduate Award in the Strings Department and an honorary inductee to Pi Kappa Lamda. Mr.Bolduc continued his studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst with Elizabeth Chang from 2020 to 2022. He was a member of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Graduate String Quartet, concertmaster of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Symphony Orchestra from 2020-2022 and concertmaster of UMass Opus One Chamber Music Ensemble. The University of Massachusetts Amherst Graduate String Quartet performed both standard repertoire and contemporary music, collaborating with living composers in both classical and jazz idioms. During his studies with Professor Chang, Mr. Bolduc was mentored by Nigel Coxe, Edward Arron, Gilles Vonsattel and Morihiko Nakahara. He was the recipient of the Joann Waite Bennett and George Neil Bennett Scholarship in 2021 and the Julian Olevsky Memorial Scholarship in Violin 2022. In addition to his performance studies, Mr. Bolduc was a teaching assistant for Music Theory with Miriam Piilonen and taught string technique classes at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Mr. Bolduc is also a certified Suzuki Strings teacher up to Book 2, receiving certification under Allen Lieb at the School for Strings in New York City in 2020. Mr. Bolduc has participated in competitions and music festivals in the United States, Netherlands, Italy and Austria. He has received additional lessons, mentorship and coachings from Rictor Noren, Bayla Keyes, Julia Glenn, Marcus Thompson, Mark Gothoni, I-Hao Lee and James Stern.
