About Christopher Boyette

I am a senior Honors Fellow student at Elon University triple majoring in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, and Economics. After I complete my undergraduate degree, I am attending Michigan State University to earn my Ph.D. in Economics. Through my studies, I have been involved with 3 separate research projects. My first research project, a collaboration with Wake Forest University, focused on using an SIS-like model on a dynamic and heavily cliqued network to study the effects of different levels of contact tracing and testing rates on disease spread. During the summer before my senior year, I extended my work on disease molding by attending the Iowa State University Mathematics REU. Additionally, as a part of my participation in the Elon Honors Fellows Program, I have completed a two-year-long economics research project focusing on the effects of teacher salary freezes on student academic performance in Michigan public schools. Outside of the classroom, I have participated in numerous internships. My most recent one was at Europe Economics, an economic consultancy, during my semester-long study abroad program in London, UK. Through this opportunity, I have learned how to search for clients, perform background economic research, and write proposals for economic analysis contracts. The disciplines of economics I learned about include labor, legal/regulatory, and welfare economics.At Elon University, I am also involved in numerous extracurricular activities including the Undergraduate Research Student Association (URSA) and the National College Federal Reserve Challenge.I would love to connect with anybody interested in economics or who works/studies at Michigan State.
