After spending over a decade in the convenient store industry, included a large portion of time as the assistant manager for a busy Chevron located off the freeway in the buzzing central corridor of Phoenix, I decided to change career paths and went to Phoenix College to try my hand in the legal field as a paralegal. Graduating in May 2013 as a member of the upper tier of my class, I found my first break with the consumer law group, Weisberg & Meyers, where I quickly became one of the go-to paralegals in the firm. After closing down shop and dropping most of its employees, Alex Weisberg and Marshall Meyers passed the torch to attorney Russell S. Thompson IV, who took me with him to continue the consumer protection as Thompson Consumer Law Group, along with a majority of the W&M cases. While I am still good friends with Russ, I parted ways with consumer law in early 2016 for Administrative Law in an attempt to make a difference by helping people with disabilities obtain disability income and SSI benefits. Missing the civil writing and litigation work where I felt more at home, and yearning to once again be the go-to paralegal, I returned to the civil law world in May of 2017 where I became the lone paralegal at Gilbert Bird Law Firm, a small but extremely successful firm in Scottsdale, Arizona specializing in real estate law and transactions, as well as contracts, commercial real estate and civil litigation. STRENGTHS: I excel in writing, research, proof reading and editing, calendaring and docketing, and enjoy working litigation along side a competent attorney. My loyalty is unmatched and my work ethic is top-notch. I have no problem offering suggestions and other forms of support to help my attorney, and in fact enjoy doing so. My client interaction is very well received and my many years of customer service experience naturally translates to working with clients and any issues they present, whether it be positive or negative in nature. I'm personable, relatable and have a calming demeanor for clients who may be aggravated. I'm a quick learner and if I can't already do it, show me once (and occasionally twice) and I will have it down. Outside of work, I love hiking, bowling, camping, playing basketball and pretty much anything outdoors if it isn't 110+ degrees. I love my kids, my dog, music, the beach, nature, and fast and beautiful cars. I enjoy playing Need for Speed, Madden and NBA2K, going to the movies and binge watching good shows and have been a huge Suns and Cardinals fan since I was a little boy and try to not miss the games.
