About Christopher Candelaria-Opper

After 30+ years in foodservice, the importance of customer service has crystallized and expanded my professional development into a new direction. Like many of my colleagues, I believe that the work we do goes far beyond the food. Over the course of my career in food service, operations and catering, the analytics strategy was crucial and I have seen how powerful integration of market and point of sale data can be to driving better, faster decisions that yield higher efficiency in the operations, increased satisfaction and higher revenues in the retail environment. As the way we work with and leverage data evolves, collaboration and communication have proven to be two of the skills most important to successful associate engagement and strategic relationships and customer satisfaction. We are no longer just talking about operational tasks – but innovative ways to drive behavior and better decisions, from making it easier for customers to make healthy choices, to creating innovative approaches to decreasing food waste. Change is never simple, but we now have the tools to make it easier. The same care and discipline is applied to talent management, from first interview through the process of mapping out their career trajectory within our organization we must develop and take care of our talent-as they are our future.
