About Christopher Chan

Chris is a thoughtful public affairs professional and expert in transit training at TransLink, the transportation authority of Metro Vancouver. As the Manager of Travel Training, Chris is the mastermind behind TransLink's Travel Training program, which supports seniors, persons with diverse abilities and newcomers to gain the knowledge and confidence they need to use transit safely and independently. Prior to joining TransLink, Chris was active in politics, serving several Members of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia as their Constituency Assistant, and Communications Director for several riding associations and campaigns at different levels of government. He is known for his ability to coordinate and execute campaigns requiring multiple languages. Chris has been a passionate advocate for equal access of information and service for vulnerable groups, and formerly served as the Chair of the City of Richmond's Intercultural Advisory Committee, Vice President of Richmond's City Centre Community Association, and Chair of the Transportation Committee of Richmond's Seniors Roundtable. He also volunteered with S.U.C.C.E.S.S. as a career mentor for newcomers, and is an alumni of the British Columbia Youth Parliament.
