About Christopher Clark

My passion is empowering young folks through education and worldly experience. I intentionally entered the academic field to serve underrepresented populations achieve their dreams and become self-sustaining. I am extremely happy tending to my flock of sixth graders every day and am humbled daily by the day-in and day-out grind of mentoring a bunch of young budding adolescents. 2012 marks my 15th year in human services. My experiences range from community development in the United States Peace Corps and negotiating job offers in the private sector for persons with disabilities. I have also consulted clients on career advice and resume development. The heart of my experience centers around public education and witnessing firsthand the good, the bad, and the ugly of government bureaucracy. I've taught third grade, fourth grade, and sixth grade. I also spent one year as an intervention teacher where I was charged with interfacing with all fifth and sixth grade classrooms to meet the needs of students with sever deficits in their test scores. I am currently serving as sixth grade team leader and am in my third year of being a union representative for my site. My education most recently includes the achievement of my tier 1 administrative credential and am completing the final classes for my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. My career aspirations include consulting and leading schools and educational organizations in order to better the field of academics. I'd relish in the opportunity to one day manage a school and likewise, get the chance to serve as an adviser to improve academic performance per curriculum implementation and human resources.
