Mr. Cohen has served as a city, county, township, state & federal official; was elected twice to the Chicago City Council, appointed to State office by Republican & Democratic Governors and by a Democratic Mayor. He also served as Regional Director of the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services. Public service has been in legislative, judicial & executive functions. Private sector activity includes 13 years as a partner in a 130-attorney Chicago firm, first as a health care lawyer, then as chair of the Government Regulation Department. Work on local & national campaigns included participation in state & national party conventions & development of relationships with numerous officials of both political parties. Agencies that were part of the US Department of Health, Education & Welfare/Dept. of Health & Human Services at which Mr. Cohen served as manager/administrator – Midwest Regional Director – included Medicare, Medicaid, Public Health Service & Food & Drug Administration.
