About Christopher Cook

I am an enthusiast of the automotive industry with a passion for creating new and exciting products, while moving mobility towards a safe and environmentally sustainable future. As a student at Oakland University, achieving my BSME in Mechanical Engineering, I had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of mechanical engineering, along with courses to prepare students for work with automotive powertrains, including a program put together in a joint effort by Stellantis engineers and Oakland University professors. Working as an intern at Key Safety Systems and BorgWarner, I gained great experience. Working as a supplier Interfacing with OEM customers and using tools like stack up analysis, BOB & WOW testing, 5 why and DVP & R’s, I worked to ensure products were designed and produced to operate as intended. My time at Stellantis has allowed me to increase my experience with ensuring products work as intended, gaining a DFSS green belt while doing a Design of Experiment project, along with the opportunity to get familiar with the regulatory end of the industry, directly effecting the documentation, testing and disclosure of Auxiliary Emissions Controls Devices and Base and Auxiliary Emissions Systems on behalf of Stellantis. It was at Stellantis that I discovered my true passion, what drew me to the automotive industry in the first place. Creating products that bring people excitement. In my role as transmission calibration engineer, working in shift scheduling, I have had the opportunity to have a thorough effect on the user experience that our customers receive in both conventional and hybrid vehicle powertrains, helping Stellantis provide the best possible drivability and quality, while exceeding our regulatory targets. This was done while working both independently, at the OEM level with in house teams, and together with suppliers. In the future, I am going to ensure that the mobility industry continues to grow and create products that people love, inspiring future generations to push the boundaries of technology to create an exciting and sustainable future.
