About Christopher Coronato

I am currently enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science in Information Systems Technology-Cyber Security Degree Program at Tidewater Community College. I then plan to participate in the transfer program to Old Dominion University and earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in IDS-Cyber Security. I also work full time as a route delivery driver for Quality Custom Distribution, a logistics company that delivers product to Starbucks Coffee and Chick-Fil-A stores in all of Virginia and parts of North Carolina. Although I enjoy managing the challenges that arise daily in my current position, I desire a shift to a long-term career that allows me to focus on my lifelong interest in a field that is constantly changing in order to best support the many different needs of a company. I have always enjoyed taking things apart to find out how they work, although I was not always successful in the “putting it back together” part. In my studies so far, I have been able to dismantle both desktop computers and laptops and put them back together in working order. What I have learned so far in the classroom has further ignited my passion for this industry. The reason I chose Cyber Security as my concentration is because I recognize the high demand for professionals in this field due to the many vulnerabilities that exist today. When I researched Cyber Security, I realized the rigor it will require to complete the course of study, but I am always up for the challenge. I love that the field keeps you constantly learning and growing.
