About Christopher Costa
I graduated from UC Davis in 2012 with my BS in Geology. Soon after I was hired by the Office of Mine Reclamation in 2013 where I furthered honed my skills with ArcMap and regulatory field work. My two years at OMR was spent mostly between the (active mining) Compliance Unit and (historical/abandoned) Abandoned Mine Lands Program. I enjoyed my work with the Department and decided to pursue the Engineering Geologist career path, moving to Bakersfield and begin working for the Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources in Feb of 2015. I worked on a 24-hour, on-call schedule witnessing/reviewing tests in the Fields surrounding Bakersfield. Primarily, I reviewed well records for wells in the Central West field areas: Asphalto, Cymric, Elk Hills, and McKittrick Fields. I transferred to the Sacramento office where I have remained for the last few years as a Range C Engineering Geologist. I am a Certified Geologist-in-Training, actively perusing my Professional Geologist License.
