About Christopher D. Lewis

As an academic director, I manage staff and implement strategies to support innovative learning and teaching across the creative and digital industries. As the Director of Education at Buckinghamshire New University, I lead the pedagogic enhancement of the School of Creative and Digital Industries, with a focus on designing effective blended learning to enhance the student experience. I have spearheaded initiatives relating to digital summative assessment that have been commended for both innovation and originality. I am an academic consultant and an external examiner for several higher education institutions, where I share my expertise and insights on learning and teaching enhancement, employability framework, and quality assurance. My doctoral work, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the National Trust, focused on the contemporary revival of the harpsichord, a topic that reflects my passion for musicology and performance. As a recording artist, I have released a series of acclaimed orchestral and solo recordings of modern music, described by Gramophone Magazine as 'pioneering'. I am motivated by the opportunity to inspire and empower students and colleagues to achieve their academic and professional goals through creative and collaborative approaches to learning and teaching.
