About Christopher Dean

Merchandising has become my passion and through the years have been able to learn and craft my skills to suit each environment I’ve worked in. I want to take what I’ve learnt from visual planning and retail in general and take that to the next step. For me that’s Merchandising. I am fortunate to be able to have had sole control over the visual planning and merchandising of these stores and through my many years experience in retail through different departments have been able to help in making them as commercially profitable as possible. I use live data including sales, stock levels, release dates to ensure these stores are as efficient as they can be. Using this data via excel and writings my own planograms that are given to each store to implement. This isn’t the only opportunity I’ve had when it comes to visual planning and merchandising. Through Superdrug I have been able to learn about buyer habits and trends in the market to ensure the stores remain profitable and use discretionary space to maximise those profit. As well as working with brands who paid for locations in store. Ensuring they were happy with their product placement. Through JD sports I utilised a lot of date ranging from sales of sizes, colours and clothing type. With this data I had the ability to create my own layouts in store and was trusted to do this process. After these experiences within stores I have desired that this is what I want to be doing and I know I can do these types of task efficiently and accurately. On top of this I have a strong background in retail in general. Whether that be cash handling, leading a team and taking initiative when managing a store.
