About Christopher Devakumar

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce at Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies, with over 21 years of professional experience, including 13 years in academia and more than nine years in the industry.Throughout my career, I have been associated with esteemed institutions such as Christ University and PES University, contributing to the Departments of Commerce and Management. I have played a key role in designing short-term certificate programs and developing credit matrices for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Commerce and Management.My industry experience spans leading global organizations, including IBM India, Accenture, and Goldman Sachs, where I worked as a Business Analyst across diverse finance and research-related domains.In academia, my teaching and research expertise focus on core finance subjects such as Investment Management, Securities Analysis and Portfolio Management, Management Accounting, Blockchain Technology, Derivatives, and Business Research Methods. I have also published several research articles on the Indian derivative market and market anomalies.I actively contribute to academic governance as a Board of Studies member for various colleges in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. In September 2023, I was appointed as a Board of Evaluation member for PhD programs at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Additionally, I am a committed member of the Indian Accounting Association (IAA), India.My research has been presented at both national and international conferences, particularly in the areas of derivative markets, blockchain, and risk management. Currently, I lead the Research, Innovation, and Incubation Centre at Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies, fostering a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
