About Christopher Dry

I started as level 1 helpdesk and grew from there. I was presented opportunities to take on more work in different aspects of Information Technology and Communications. As I took on more of these opportunities I had the opportunity to lead many projects, some are listed below- Implementation of SCCM to manage patching, application deployment and operating system development- Forklift upgrade SAN refresh (replace SAN/Servers/Networking). This involved integrating the new storage technology and servers into our existing network infrastructure, as well as migrating existing data and servers to the new hosts on VMware ESXi. I have done many of these, including migrating from VMware to Hyper-V- Migration from on premise Exchange to Office 365 with ADFS integration. This also involved migrating emails/data from other systems such as 3rd party archiving- Moving from an ISP managed MPLS solution to a self managed hybrid MPLS/ADVPN configuration. This change involved a large number of new firewalls to be configured for multiple connections with weighted BGP routing and dual redundancy so that if any one connection went down it wouldn't interrupt that site's capacity to continue operating. This move also involved migrating from a multiline based phone system setup to a SIP configuration along with a migration of a Cisco UCS system to new hardware. Over my time in IT I've learnt a great deal and will continue to do so. I have a passion for problem solving, whether it is a basic application problem on a PC or a complicated networking issue. I also enjoy implementing new technology that benefits the business. I believe in detailed planning of projects so that they're thoroughly tested before implementation, implemented in such a way that the process of solving an issue or rolling back can occur rapidly, and finding the cause of the issue would be fast and easy.
