About Christopher Ferkel

Christopher serves as technical team lead for a 9-state region providing network services for Sprint/T-Mobile. He has a diverse background in telecommunications and emergency response services and training. His career in communications spans 5 decades with expertise in Installation, Operations, Maintenance, and Training of Wireline and Wireless Networks, Emergency Network Restoral of Service / Asset Recovery. 2006-2009, Christopher worked as Logistics Chief, Operations Chief, and Incident Commander of Sprint's Hazardous Environment Action Team (HEAT) to provide emergency restoration / asset recovery for network infrastructure during a hazardous environment incident. Trained as a Hazardous Materials Technician, he also volunteered (2007-2019, retired) with the Cole County (MO) Emergency Response Team (HazMat) providing emergency response for hazardous materials incidents involving public safety, transportation, and infrastructure. Elected in 2009, he served a two-year term as President of the State Technical College of Missouri's Advisory Council. This 350 person group of industry professionals advises the college on curriculum recommendations in advance of public and private sector needs and changes. Re-elected in 2011 to serve another two year term. Christopher served as a Trustee for the Corporate Board of the Missouri Baptist Children's Home corporate board (2013-2018). This is a non-profit charity supporting the needs of children, youth, and family services throughout the State of Missouri. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for MBCH Children and Family Ministries board and Executive Committee until 2022.
