About Christopher Gaines

My five year goals as a professional are to: • Become an APTA board certified clinical orthopedic and sports specialist, and complete training as a manual therapy fellow • participate in community based preventative care to prevent illness, injury, and improve access and knowledge of resources available to the community The goal I am most passionate about is to participate in community-based preventative care to increase access and knowledge of resources available to the population. Personally, I am fervent about exercise and fitness. I am an avid “crossfitter” and have seen its superior effects when compared with conventional weight training in my own life and in others around me. When treating patients, I strive to utilize the techniques and principles I have learned from CrossFit. I do this to empower my patients and instill them with the belief that they can do these complex functional movements, even when they think they are too old or disabled. In five years, I plan to be actively promoting fitness and return to activity in the community by partnering with local CrossFit gyms. Together, we will provide education that promotes prevention of injury as well as promoting the role of physical therapy professionals in community health.
